A small number of 1994 and 1995 model year gasoline vehicles are OBD II compliant. If the vehicle is OBD II compliant, the label will designate ?BD II Certified? Operations
When your "Check Engine" light or "Service Engine Soon" light is on, stop the car and apply the parking brake, start the engine then plug the scanner to the 16-pin diagnostic socket usually located under the instrument panel in the car. The trouble codes will flash four times. At fifth time the code will be cleared, or they will remain in the engine control unit if the scanner is put out before four times displayed.
